Yoga & Ayurveda - Learn to practice according to the Doshas
Sunday, 14 April 2024
Join Giulia on a transformative journey as we integrate the wisdom of Ayurveda into our Yoga practice, cultivating balance and well-being in sync with the rhythms of nature.
Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of life, teaches us that our well-being depends on balance. At the heart of Ayurveda are the three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, representing the elemental forces that govern all that exists, including our physiology and psychology. Each person is born with a unique constitution, or prakriti, determined by the proportion of these doshas. During the course of our lives, the doshas may fluctuate in response to changes in our environment, often bringing us out of balance.
In Ayurveda, Yoga serves as a potent tool for harmonizing the doshas and promoting holistic wellness. Through asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork), and meditation, Yoga helps to restore equilibrium to the body and mind.
In this workshop, we will delve into the principles of Ayurveda, including the concepts of gunas and vikruti. We will explore how each individual doshic constitution can be driven out of balance, how to recognise it in ourselves and others, and how to restore harmony by choosing the most appropriate yoga practice.
You can expect:
- A theoretical part, to introduce the principles of Ayurveda that you will need in order to make an informed assessment on your state in every moment of your life, and how to choose the practices that are appropriate to balance each dosha;
- A full guided yoga practice, in order to experience a yoga sequence informed by Ayurvedic principles;
- A safe space to share your own experience with the group;
- Some written support that you can take with you, and that you can refer back to after the workshop to support your own practice.
This workshop is open to all, and no previous knowledge of Ayurveda is required.
This workshop is a great opportunity to learn a different way to inform and cultivate your yoga practice according to Ayurveda, and will provide you practical tools to cultivate self-awareness and make conscious choices to support your well-being in every moment of your life.
