The idea behind The House of Yoga

is the one of a home away from home. The House of Yoga started in a small, dedicated yoga room in an Ixelles apartment back in 2019. The intention of this project is to provide the feeling of enjoying an intimate experience in a safe space before, during and after classes.

The House of Yoga
is a yoga studio

that aims to provide welcoming and inclusive yoga, placing its community at the centre. This is a safe space to practice, meditate and share with likeminded people. At The House of Yoga we firmly believe that there is a right yoga for every single person on this planet, regardless of their age, gender, colour and background.

Our Mission is to enable you to find the right yoga for you

and empower you to access your true and best self through this practice in order to be an active member of their community.

The core values of The House of Yoga are those of care and service for its community; inclusivity of everyone who wishes to practice yoga; and lastly, those of truthfulness and integrity in sharing the teachings of this practice.

Through our personalised approach we will ensure that all practitioners are seen – from the newer to the more seasoned ones – and find the right class for them in this space.

Bearing these principles in mind, we will neither offer yoga as a fast shortcut solution to people’s problems nor offer a practice that perpetrates the idea that personal value is measured by the things we do. We will instead offer the opportunity to start a never-ending journey of self-inquiry, self-awareness and self-love. The house is a physical space, but it is also a mental space. Ultimately, the hope is that through the practice of yoga we will realise that the house is us. We are enough the way we are.

There is nowhere else we would want to be other than with ourselves and no one else we would want to be other than ourselves.

In case of late cancellations or no-shows, classes will be charged in full or deducted from your class pass. If you are the holder of an unlimited membership or a Trial Pass, our system will apply the following measures with immediate effect:

  • A no-show penalty fee of €10 and €7 respectively will be charged to unlimited membership and Trial Pass holders
  • As of the second late cancellation per month, a fee of €5 will be charged to unlimited membership and Trial Pass holders
If the penalty fees cannot be charged, all future scheduled classes will be cancelled and future bookings will be suspended until the fees remain unsettled.

To ensure fairness among all students, these measures apply automatically with no exceptions.

Please arrive at least 5 – 10 minutes prior to class (especially if it is your first class!) to be on your mat at the class start time and be respectful towards teachers and fellow students. We do not allow late entry. No exceptions will be made. If you have booked online and arrive after check in closes, you forfeit your spot without being refunded. In case of late check-in, your space may be released to someone on the waiting list.

Being on a waiting list for a class is like a commitment to joining that class. If a spot becomes available up until 2 hours before class you will automatically be added to the class and informed by email. If you were waiting for a spot but have changed your plans in the meantime, please remove yourself from the waiting list, otherwise you run the risk of being automatically added to the class and losing your credit if you can no longer make it to class. Keep an eye on your emails if you decided to join a waitlist!

Self-practice time

You may access our studio during our opening hours and outside our group classes to use our mats and equipment and practice by yourself for up to 45 minutes. In order to access the studio, you must hold a valid membership or class pass.
