Anatomy & Mobility Teacher Training
March 2026
Join Ananda for The House of Yoga’s first 50-hour Anatomy and Mobility Training – a deep dive into the living, breathing intelligence of the body. Drawing from over two decades of study and practice in yoga, somatics, meditation, Fighting Monkey, and Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement, Ananda offers an interdisciplinary approach to anatomy that bridges physics and poetry and merges structure with flow.
Asanas are not fixed shapes in space but dynamic expressions through which we can map our unique physiology, sense ourselves, and facilitate choice. There is no single right or wrong way to do asana – only more efficient, integrated, and effortless ways to be in movement.
This training invites a paradigm shift: from seeing yoga as a balance between strength and flexibility to understanding it as a balance of organisation and adaptability – the capacity to respond fluidly to the ever-changing complexity of life and the environment.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Throughout these 50 hours you will:
- Learn the fundamental principles of anatomy and biomechanics as they apply to asana and functional movement.
- Explore mobility and conditioning practices that support both daily life and diverse movement disciplines.
- Engage with scientific theory on evolutionary physiology, behavioural neuroscience, and functional biomechanics to embody the ethos of elasticity in the body, plasticity in the brain.
- Discover how simplicity yields complexity – how biomechanical precision can merge with fluidity to create a dynamic, creative, and evolving movement practice.
- Deepen your understanding of proprioception, interoception, and nociception, refining your sensory awareness and capacity for self-regulation.
- Learn principles for working intelligently with injury, fostering longevity and resilience in your practice and teaching.
This course is designed for yoga teachers, curious practitioners, and movement enthusiasts who wish to deepen their anatomical understanding while honouring the living, adaptive nature of the body. It will equip you with practical tools, conceptual clarity, and renewed inspiration for teaching and self-practice.
